Description

Four days in Venice with accommodation in a 4-star hotel in the heart of the historic centre, a double room with breakfast included.

This is a tour to get to know the world's most famous city perched over water and its infinite faces.

You can admire St Mark's Square with the Basilica, a splendour of decorations and mosaics, and the Doge's Palace, which guards the history of the Serenissima.

Or you can take a romantic gondola ride along the Grand Canal, amid the palaces of noble families and the majestic harmony of the Rialto Bridge.

Then there is the other city, the one that lives with an ancient rhythm that can be discovered by getting lost in the narrow streets and along the bridges, coming across craft shops, bars that invented the aperitif and trattorias that cook risottos and fish dishes combined with polenta and radicchio.

Because Venice has a hundred faces, one more fascinating than the other, which have always amazed visitors for a thousand years.

Visiting

Day 1: A stroll through secret Venice
Day 1: A stroll through secret Venice

Arrival in Venice and accommodation in a 4-star hotel in the heart of the historic centre, in a double room. The hotel's central location makes it easy to reach iconic places such as Sestiere di Castello, the city's greenest neighbourhood, Ponte di Paglia and the pier at St. Mark's Square. Nearby, discover the Arsenale and the Biennale, the cultural institution that organises the Film Festival and the International Art and Architecture Exhibitions. Stroll freely along Via Garibaldi with its fashionable shops and craft workshops where the masks of the world's most famous carnival are sold.

Included experience: Venice to discover amid culture and beauty

Depending on your chosen time, meet with an experienced guide and embark on an experience in search of the unexpected, in the less-travelled areas of the city.

Admire Palazzo Grimani, the former residence of the Doge, then continue to Campo Santa Maria Formosa to visit the Acqua Alta bookstore, one of the most original in the world, with books in gondolas to preserve them from the danger of the high tides.

Day 2: On foot and by gondola into the magic
Day 2: On foot and by gondola into the magic

Have breakfast at the hotel and, thanks to its central location, you can easily reach St Mark's Square, the 'drawing room of Europe', as it was defined by Napoleon for the mix of architecture and convivial atmosphere that made it the hub of Venetian life. Admire the Clock Tower, the Church of San Basso and the Bell Tower, affectionately called 'el paròn de casa', master of the house.

Included experience: In the heart of Venice amid art and relaxation

Depending on your chosen time, meet with an experienced guide and visit the Doge's Palace, with its immortal works by Tintoretto, Titian, Jeronimus Bosch and many others.

Then head to the Basilica, the symbol of the city, representing the history of the Lagoon over the centuries.

Contemplate the decoration and magnificence of the interior, the marble inlaid floor and the mosaics of the apse.

Finish up with a gondola ride: navigate the canals, immersing yourself in a world of bridges and aristocratic palaces.

The true beauty of the Lagoon can only be appreciated in this way, in a dimension where time seems to stand still.

Day 3: Arts and crafts in Venice
Day 3: Arts and crafts in Venice

Have breakfast at the hotel and, thanks to its central location, you can easily reach iconic places such as the Sestiere di Cannaregio, Venice's most densely populated district, famous for its clubs and craft workshops. Walk freely through Calletta Varisco, the narrowest in the entire city, only 53 centimetres wide, the Jewish Ghetto and Palazzo Ca' D'Oro, the highest expression, together with the Palazzo Ducale, of Gothic art.

Included experience: Venice puppets between history and tradition

Depending on the time of day chosen, visit a handcrafted puppet workshop in Santa Fosca: discover how a theatrical performance can come to life from a block of wood thanks to the skill of a craftsman, and be enchanted by the dreamlike atmosphere inside a 17th-century Venetian palace.

In the evening, join the locals and 'andar per bàcari', the typical bars of the city offering mini portions of local food, the 'cicchetti', accompanied by glasses of wine.

Day 4: Starting out with wonder in your heart
Day 4: Starting out with wonder in your heart

Amid water and land, works of art and secret routes, having lived in a mosaic of wonderment reflecting the infinite, because Venice, as Charles Dickens wrote, 'is beyond human imagination'.
