Varese, Italy

Varese Italy

Varese is an Italian municipality, capital of the province of the same name in Lombardy. The appellation "Garden City" derives from the numerous parks and gardens found within the municipality, often part of villas built between the 18th and 20th centuries, first by noble families and more recently by industrialists and representatives of the upper middle class, originating mainly from Milan. Among the various monuments are the Sacro Monte di Varese, Villa Panza, and the Palazzo Estense with its gardens.
