Sassari Italy

Sassari is the other capital of Sardinia, proud of its diversity: a city of culture, with deep university traditions and professionals who have made it an important economic hub. The historic center winds through alleys where you come across ancient buildings, such as the Cathedral of San Nicola, which has an interior of Gothic purity dating back to Pisan domination wrapped in a Baroque façade. More than for the monuments, Sassari is worth a visit to enter into its lifestyle, marked by elegant restaurants where you can taste the best Sardinian cuisine and well-kept shops. The Monserrato Park is splendid, six hectares of restored meadows and groves with the charm of nineteenth-century residences, where you can enjoy the fresh air immersed in a timeless landscape. In the summer the city moves to the sea, thanks to a position that allows you to reach wonderful beaches. Platamona is the closest, a quarter of an hour's drive, and the most popular: a long strip of fine sand with all the services for relaxation and sport. Half an hour away is Alghero, the Catalan village overlooking the coast and surrounded by some of the most famous beaches on the island. Those who love history, in addition to the city archaeological museum with a collection of magical bronzes, can visit one of the 93 nuraghes scattered throughout the province: towers and castles from the Bronze Age, often set in intact nature.
